She is a Certified Financial Planner® Professional, Certified Divorce Financial Analyst®, and certified in Long Term Care, Senior Living, and Retirement Income Planning.
She is also listed as an Elder Care Provider on ElderCareMatters.com, a resource for planning for and dealing with issues of aging.
In May 2018, Angela joined West Financial Services in McLean, Virginia, as a relationship manager. Since 1982, West Financial has offered fee-only financial planning, asset management, and retirement plan consulting services.
At the age of 14, Angela began her career working in Richmond with her father, Frank Brown Jr., a well-respected member of the American College of Trust and Estate Council and author of the Virginia Probate Handbook. After graduating from the University of Richmond with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Women’s Studies, Angela went on to obtain her Juris Doctor from Seton Hall Law School in Newark, New Jersey. A native of Richmond, she has served for many years on the University of Richmond’s Estate Planning Seminar planning committee. She is a current member of the Financial Planning Association of the National Capital Area, and a retired president and chair of the Financial Planning Association of Central Virginia. She is also a member of the Northern Virginia Estate Planning Council, the Washington DC Estate Planning Council, and she is an associate member of the Virginia State Bar.
Angela enjoys writing and presenting on topics related to financial planning and has a passion for working to protect vulnerable adults from financial exploitation.
Angela and her husband live in Arlington, Virginia, where they enjoy spending time with their adult children, traveling, cycling, weightlifting, cooking and eating great food, and constantly learning.
