Financial Planning Focus - Client Portal - Our New Frontier

We are excited to announce the unveiling of our new client portal. Over the last several months, we have been working with our vendor to implement a number of system upgrades, based on client feedback gathered during our initial testing period. We are confident that you will find the new portal to be a valuable resource, with access to the information that you want most.

Dashboard – Quick Access to What’s Important
The dashboard, which is the default view once logged in, now contains relevant information at a glance. You can easily see account balances, year-to-date performance, income and expenses, and contributions and withdrawals (example below).


Client Portal

By clicking on any of the above mentioned items, you are able to access data from up to three additional time periods, giving you access to a wealth of information within seconds. In addition to the information presented on the dashboard, you will also be able to access individual reports, including: asset allocation, bond analysis, holdings, unrealized gains & losses, purchases& sales and more!

Security – Protecting Your Assets
Doing business securely and efficiently is a top priority. Because of that, the client portal will also include a new document sharing function. This allows you to upload documents (e.g., tax returns, estate documents, account paperwork, etc.) directly to the portal for our access. Conversely, we have the ability to upload documents for you to review, such as your quarterly reporting package or account paperwork, such as wire forms and IRA beneficiary designations.

In an effort to keep your information safe, the portal offers two types of security above and beyond the typical username/ password combination. Each portal will be activated with dual factor authentication, in this case challenge questions that you must correctly answer when attempting to access your accounts from a new location. Additionally, you will have the option to set up a text notification that will supply you with a unique identifier each time you log in. This unique identifier must be included with your password to gain access to the site. The text feature will be optional; however, the dual factor authentication is required for all users.

Additionally, the client portal website is secured through 128-bit encrypted SSL, the same type of security used by banks and many other financial institutions.

Always Improving – What’s To Come?
We recognize the importance of building out the portal to better align with your needs. New features are constantly being developed to ensure your experience is not only informative but also user-friendly. In the future, the portal will be able to report on outside accounts that we do not manage, giving you a complete and consolidated look at your financial picture. This feature will help to ensure that your West Financial team always has access to the most up-to-date information, allowing us to better meet your financial planning needs and invest assets we have under management.

How do I use the new Portal?
In order to ensure you get the most out of the portal, we will be publishing pre-recorded “How-To” videos that will guide you through the system, from setting up your log-in, to running individual reports based on your needs.
